* James Darren attended Epiphany school & Southern high in Philadelphia.
* James Darren was a student of acting coach Stella Adler.
* His wife, Evy, is the former Miss Denmark of 1958.

* James first gained recognition when he starred opposite Sandra Dee in the original 1959 teen film "Gidget". Whilst the female lead of "Gidget" kept changing he continued to star in the subsequent sequels "Gidget Goes Hawaiian" (1961) & "Gidget Goes To Rome" (1963).

* His portrayal of Gidget's boyfriend Moondoggie turned him into a teen idol of the 60's.

* James also gained fame in the 60's as a singer, with several hits including: "Goodbye Cruel World" & "Her Royal Majesty."

* Also in the 60's he starred in the hit TV series "The Time Tunnel".

* James continued to work in television in the 80's, starring alongside Star Trek's William Shatner in the popular TV series "T.J. Hooker".

* James is the father of CNN anchorman Jim Moret.

* James is a close friend of Frank Sinatra's family. He is the Godfather of Nancy Sinatra's daughter, Angela Jennifer Lambert.
